Beam Of Seeking
3rd-level Conjuration
Casting Time: 1 Action
Range/Area: 60 ft
Components: S, M (A ruby worth 200 gp)
Duration: 1 minute (concentration)
Classes: Wizard
You harness energy from the universe and create a 60 ft beam that emits dim light in a 5 ft radius as it bends and curves, guiding you or piercing through obstacles.
Piercing Light. It pierces up to three objects or creatures in a row that are no denser than a 5ft cube. It will exit on the other side after passing through a target.
When a creature is hit by the beam, it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw. Failure results in 8d10 radiant damage, while success results in half the damage.
Guiding Light. On a failed save, you can choose for the object or creature not to take damage but emit bright light up to a 20 ft radius until the end of your next turn. Objects always fail the save.
You can track the beam’s location and direction, even if it’s hidden, but you don’t know its surroundings.
The beam lasts until the end of your next turn. However, you can create a new beam on each of your turns or until the spell ends.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th, 7th, or 9th level, the number of objects or creatures it can pierce increases by 2, 4, or 6 respectively.
