d12 Mysterious Luck


1. A lich wearing a dark navy trench coat and a rusty crown appears. They are reading a large tome until they notice you, and then they disappear shortly after.

2. A small card materializes in your pocket. It reads, “Luck’s Errant Inquiries of Myths and Mysteries,” and has a logo of a skull with a lightning bolt through it.

3. All the furniture in the room you are in becomes animated and attack you.

4. A magical shield appears, which forces all creatures within a 15-ft radius to tell the truth.

5. You see a vision of a giant spectral suit of armor with blue flaming eyes crawling out of castle ruins towards you. It grabs you and says, “Seeker. Find truth. Never relent. Bring forth secrets and tear them apart. Let not mysteries go uncovered. Be my herald and I will grant you my power!” You snap out of the vision and hear a name, but then forget what it was.

6. Your magic items lose their magical abilities for one day.

7. You instantly learn a spell that changes reality around you, even if you’ve never heard of it before.

8. You find yourself transported to a demiplane with various planar bridges extending in all directions. Each bridge leads to a wizard’s tower.

9. Today, all spells you cast will have the opposite effect.

10. A spell tome appears and floats in the air. It contains unusual spells. When touched, you see the memories of a wizard slowly decaying away as they stare at their reflection in a mirror.

11. You get the feeling that something is watching you, following you, and even obstructing you. You start to see patterns in your current quest that support your suspicions.

12. The current room transforms into a study with various tomes scattered about, some even floating in the air. Papers are pinned to the walls and scattered across the floor. A throne-like chair sits in the center of the room, with a decaying corpse covered in cobwebs.
